Send Bruce Lee A Birthday Card!

On November 27, 2010, the Bruce Lee Foundation will be hosting a birthday celebration in San Francisco to honor what would have been Bruce Lee’s 70th birthday.  As part of the celebration, we are asking all Bruce Lee fans to send us a card wishing Bruce Lee a happy 70th birthday.  All cards received before November 23, 2010 will be displayed in San Francisco at the birthday dinner on November 27, 2010.  Shannon Lee will randomly select two cards and those two lucky birthday wishers will be sent a special prize.  Cards may be pre-printed or custom made.  As Bruce once said, “when one is not expressing himself, he is not free” so be creative in expressing yourself when wishing Bruce a happy 70th birthday!

As you may or may not know, the Bruce Lee Foundation operates entirely on public donations and support and the 70th birthday celebration will be our biggest fundraising event of the year.  While there is no fee to send a card, any donation you would like to include with your card (however small or large) would be greatly appreciated.  In addition to supporting the Bruce Lee Foundation, your donation would be fully tax deductible to the extent of the law.

HOW BRUCE LEE CHANGED WORLD CONTINUES TO ROLL OUT WORLDWIDE

Following the success of LeeWay Media/Waddell Media’s HOW BRUCE LEE CHANGED THE WORLD on HISTORY US in 2009 the two hour  special continues its pop culture dominance airing on networks around the world.

On Sunday August 29th DISCOVERY CHANNEL AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND premiered this roller coaster romp through the Lee phenomenon revealing the dedicated career of a movie star with only five mainstream films under his belt but who subsequently went on to influence culture worldwide.

A cinematic journey, the special takes the viewer across the US, Asia and Europe exploring Lee’s influence — even joining Shannon Lee on a trip back to her father’s roots in Hong Kong; nearly fifty years after Lee arrived to make his first kung fu film.  It features in-depth interviews with actor Jackie Chan, comedian Eddie Griffin, rappers LL Cool J and RZA, Marvel Comics’ Stan Lee, and renowned film directors John Woo and Brett Ratner among others. Lee’s friend and business partner famed Hong Kong film producer, Raymond Chow gives a rare interview.

PASSION will be marketing the special at the MIPCOM festival in Cannes next month.

Bruce Lee’s 70th Birthday Celebration - Nov. 27, 2010

A lot of you commented in here and on facebook that you wanted to see more of the Daytimers, and specifically, the workouts.  I pulled a year out that my father meticulously tracked his workouts.  Also, discuss the book, The Art of Expressing The Human Body.  As many of you know, he worked very hard at his conditioning and training (mental, physical and spiritual).  Maybe we can all strive to work harder at ours!!!  Enjoy!

Our Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior game for ipad/iphone/itouch has been getting great reviews.  This is such a great way to introduce my father to a new generation.  We have been getting emails from people who first learned of my father through the game, and then searched the web and found this site and other information - his philosophy, and what kind of complete man that he was.  Anyway, here is a video about the game.  You can click on the banner to the left - or just search in the apple app store for Dragon Warrior if you are interested in getting the game.  xox Shannon

Hey All:  So there has been a lot of debate on YouTube, in my blog and in some emails that we have received about the statement made by the guy at the beginning of the UFC Expo video - that Bruce was the first MMA.  I wanted to sit down and give you my opinion on whether it is fair to call Bruce Lee the Father of MMA, whether JKD is MMA (it’s not), and other related things.

Hi All - We took the Bruce Lee Action Museum on the road to Las Vegas. The Bruce Lee Foundation set up the booth at the UFC Fan Expo last weekend.  People stopped by to give thanks, get some t-shirts, pose with Bruce, wish Bruce a Happy 70th birthday or do Bruce Lee impersonations.  Some of the impersonations are previewed in this video - we are going to put up a video with the full impersonations next week.  The best impersonation will receive a cool prize.  Really a great event.  Enjoy
