Hummm I see the fans everyone scared to comment on MMA or do not like it the way it is run.Showing from the words of the hardcore fans. I know if Mr Lee was here he would give everybody a chance. The old ways was if you are not in the group or made it to that level. You are not welcome. There should not be rules like that in this world. But some places there are. Mr Lee would never have got to where he was if the world is basely stricken on those rules. If he follow the old ways no one here would every know who he was or have become and always under someone with no saying.Mr Lee gave other ethnic a chance to try to bring culture together and show different ways of thinking that new things can be develop from it. This is what set him different than many. Before in his time era it is similar in which like now the same like how the fans think here. Some fans now are acting like your art my art. He knew someone like me. Some what will arrived one day to show the true self. Not what the media has been hiding all along not showing monitoring. Who gets in or are told what to do certain way. This is why many are not used to it when people see an Asian speak like this.I know there are many of me out there and their time has not come yet or have not hear the believe in motivation like this words to set them out there.I know there are many culture are like me.Just have not been heard yet.I like it when those days have come one day.I know if he was here everybody would be on here every minute commenting.Trust me I know. If Mr Lee see a person being weak not understanding. He would change their minds. If not they can not help their self he would give an advice and hope that person remember or try to do it some ways. I know if he was here I would still be here speaking no differently. I speak now where are all the JKD students why no comments here from all of yah.Is that what you learn hummm this far. You all need to rethink and show yourself more with any words.I know one thing I would say to everybody Mr Lee if here would never witness this and I know all of his friend at that time should be surprisingly upset shock how this looks. This is not how he would picture his loyal fans to act like to come this far. Some day yah all will know when a new movie comes out made by the foundation.I know I would see many of you showing up here.If you do not your lost of knowing.I know all of yah will want to see what it is all about or you will miss out on your part as a fan at that level. This I know is too early.Maybe I am ahead by than that time come. I would tell you all you are late. Lastly very good Mr Bryant I respect your words. I know you are the first here as a sport figure to speak thank you. You are yourself learning new things and not limited. You are a open minded person looking to learn new ways no matter what are your status. We all here respect you for doing it and many like you that will show up after. Who knows you might be in one of the Martial Art future movies in the plans.Trust me.Thai
They aren’t scared to comment; they just don’t care.
And now onto other topics:
JKD, in my opinion, was one mans vision, and was specifically tailored to him. These other cats like Carruthers try to emulate it, but for Bruce it was natural. Why? Because it was an extension of who he was. He created it, and it was him expressing himself honestly.
What do you think of that?
I think you are right when you say it was Bruce expressing himself, and therefore natural for him,but the only thing that counts is that it feels good and natural to you as well, even if it doesn’t come from you, like Tommy Carruthers, who is very good at it nonetheless, even Bruce to create JKD took things (techniques)everywhere, and integrated them,or modified them so that they would essentially work for him, keeping only what is good, for him, experimenting.I think whatever you choose to train in,comming from yourself or not,or a mix of the too,the only thing that matters is that it feels good to you, that you can just express yourself in that and be free.
Bruce wanted to keep his classes small, so as not to dilute JKD. In reference to a point that you mentioned: it feel$ good to Carruther$ to practice Jeet Kune Do? $$$$$$
Would it feel good to anyone to make six-digits or more?
It’s a lot easier to express oneself with a ton of cash than without; especially when one gets older.
What’s your opinion? We’d like to know. I have no problem with people making money. I’m all for it. I just see the shakedown. I see how JKD turned into this enterprise that is anathema to what Bruce wanted for it. He was focusing on making his movies at that point and, as I mentioned earlier wanted to keep classes small. It seems to have been “McDonaldized”
That point of keeping it small and “one on one” was to avoid that. You dig?
“If people say Jeet Kune Do is different from “this” or from “that”, then let the name of Jeet Kune Do be wiped out, for that is what it is, just a name. Please don’t fuss over it.

ZZZZZZZZ
Huh yeah ok!! Well you seem pretty defensive and you seem to have taken my post as some kind of an offence but that was not my intention. And i also don’t know why you’re talking about money(you are saying Carruthers is selling JKD or whatever?Whatever!) or class size, because i wasn’t talking about that,my post had nothing to do with that, so, you dig?lol. Oh and here’s my point since you’d like to know, my point was simply to point out an important fact about Bruce’s philosophy of Martial Art that is also one of the main points practicing JKD, or should i say, intergrating the PHILOSOPHY of JKD in your(anybody’s) practice of Martial Arts, get it?Since we don’t want to fuss over the name or anything right?So..my point is,that it is an INDIVIDUAL learning journey,of growth,of taking what is good and discarding what is not,as Bruce said it,so what i was talking about is simply that whatever you’re doing,if its right for YOU(and before i took Carruthers as an example, don’t know much about him aside the fact that he is pretty damn good at it),or works for you,to perfect yourself, your skill and evolve, then do it(in the context of training and experimenting in MA).That,to me,as i’ve understood it,is the whole point of Jeet Kune Do. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
BRUCE LEE!! first off bruce was a hero in my house, some kids had jfk, lance armstrong babe ruth, bruce was my man and will be passed down to my kids threw the years. He is someone that you have not seen the likes of sence his passing,JKD is a style its your style, its for you to find you,and do you,the man word YOU!!!we do what works for us if you try blocking a punch with your face, then go hey let me try my hand and realize hey thats easier,,your gonna do that,,the problem with mma is its to controlled, and im a huge fan,,let me eplain..say your locked up on the ground and hookek, now im pretty sure theres no rules to pressure points,,if you noticed bruce would bite to get out of a bad position..now i know theres no biting but theres sertain spots that if i poke you(under arm, deep in ribs, under chin,)youll get off me quick, real quick..mma is great for the world of mixed martial arts but its taking turns towards commercial, and would like to see it stop.. you da man bruce
best of wishes to the family
I also think that when Bruce Lee created JKD what he had in mind is how to get the best out himself. Yes of course there are some principal of combat that no one can escape (example if you want to fight for any period of time you need to be fit) but at the end all humans are different in some way. So the idea is that one should look at himself honestly and say ok what can I do to bring the best out of me. In essence that is what MMA is, not just a matter of training different arts but to put them together in a way that it fits the fighter.
This brings me to another point I have read a few articles about Bruce Lee’s fight with Wong Jack Man claiming that the fight did not go down as Linda Lee says.
Now in Linda’s version the fight lasted about 3 minutes on Wong Jack Man’s version it lasted almost 25 minutes. Now even if I did not know anything about the combatants I would still think that for a no rules bare nuckle fight 3 minutes is more likely than 25 minutes. Professional MMA fighters fight 15 minutes with rest in between if they fight for a title it may go to 25 minutes but with rest in between. So to believe that a fight bare nuckle lasted 25 minutes straight with nether combatants suffering injury is about as believable as the story of snow white and the 7 dwars.
simplicity, was bruces way period, even though it was not simple to understand and aquire it as your own way. or train to aquire simplicity. bruce read, trained, and fought in h kong or why, but he was all for any style/s not against them as they all help the human understand himself through martial arts, and not to mention expressing him or yourself through (jkd) martial arts, he chose the path through tv, media, movies, etc to get his way (art) accross, why is it difficult for another to do the same, he was the pioneer the first to bring it forward. i am only just learning it in the way i live my life. thanks to bruce the pebble was dropped.
